Mar. 3rd, 2008 12:29 pmThe weekend was decent, from what I remember.
Friday, the baby and I hung out. Took a walk and went to the corner store for snacks and to CVS for hair dye and a vaporizer. He fell asleep about 830 thanks to the vaporizer, and I slept with him for a couple of hours and then got up to hang out with A when he got home abt 1am.
Sat, I got up early to dye my hair. Feria Rich Auburn True Red. Also known as magenta. Dear lord. If you watched Rock of Love last season, you'll understand when I say that it's the same color as crazy Lacey's. This color is not found in nature. Not only is it bright pink, but it's streaky.
After I recovered from the shock, the baby and I waved A off to go fishing and then went to PACT. PACT was ok. I was exhausted so I was glad we were late enough to miss most of the parent must play and interact with their kid part. The topic was socialization but we never got to it, instead we spent the whole time discussing whatever issues people were having in the last or so. There was some agreement and amused head shaking on one little kid being such a good manipulator and I exploded, quietly and calmly, saying exactly what I thought about a 2 yr old's behavior when faced with her parents going back to work after they've been home her whole life being described as manipulative. Jerks. Then I said exactly what I thought about parents mocking 2 yr olds. Grrr.
After that, I grabbed my mom and we went off to buy bubble stuff and hair dye to fix what I'd done. We were overwhelmed in the hair care aisle, and decided it would be better to call l'oreal and ask them what to do. Bubble stuff was a go, though, as were a few other toys and house supplies. Had lunch at Andolini's, mmmm. Baby wanted pepperoni and pineapple, momma got veggie and I had a slice of anchovy pizza.
Dropped my mom off, went over to M&Ms for a bit, went home. Put the baby to bed, watched a movie w/A, off to bed ourselves.
Sun, A took a mental health day, and we took the baby to the nursery. Spent the day in our pjs, watching movies and eating chinese food. Did get the house clean, a bit at a time over the course of the day. Picked the baby up, went to the grocery store, did nothing the rest of the day. Wonderful.
Called L'oreal this am, the help line woman told me there was no way that my undamaged hair could've turned pink and offered to explain why. Um, no thanks. Is sending me my money back and told me how tot fix. Will be buying Preference Medium Brown #5 after work.

Date: 2008-03-04 02:41 pm (UTC)Ya know, that is just waaaay fucking insightful of you. I wish you were my mom. So how did the group react to your ideas?
"...the help line woman told me there was no way that my undamaged hair could've turned pink and offered to explain why"
That kind of "customer service" makes me want to rip their faces off.

Date: 2008-03-04 03:00 pm (UTC)I know, right? So insightful. Asses. They mumbled and changed the subject. I'm a huge outlier though--when we talked about one couple's problems brushing their 18 mo old twins teeth and how it had become a "power struggle," I suggested they just not brush them for a bit, lay off the pressure. I might as well have suggested they feed them nothing but artificial sweetener and red dye #5.
