Feb. 25th, 2008 01:13 pmGrrr. I just ripped out the scarf I was crocheting because I miscounted the stitches in two rows but didn't notice until I was further up the line. Dang it. It's like the third time I've undone it. Today. I'm not entirely sure I'm doing it right anyway. Maybe someone can help...
1. After I make the initial chain and start going back across--do I loop the needle through the loop next to the one with the yarn coming out of it or the one over? The direction say to count two but not to include the loop on the needle--so, needle loop, one, two or loop next to needle, one two? (I know that was incoherent.)
2. When I get to the end of the row and make one chain in preparation for going back across, how do I physically make the turn--do I turn the yarn? do I remove the needle and put it in the other way so it's not twisted? do I go lefthanded?
A says I overthink things, which is true, but I like to know exactly how to do something before I do it--I'm rather impressed I did as much as I did in experimentation before ripping it out and asking. :)
