Jan. 7th, 2008 10:05 pmI cannot also be allergic to blueberries. I thought the blackberry allergy would be the final betrayal. A life spent only with grapes, bananas and oranges would be too, too dull. At this rate I'll be losing one of those in the next few years.
Hand--->stapler--->forehead.
Seriously, though, come on! *grumble, grumble* Stupid allergies.

Date: 2008-01-08 03:27 pm (UTC)Bilberries - available up and down the eastern seaboard, mostly at roadside stands and farmer's markets. Not in large scale commercial production. One of those things that you have to "know about".
Saskatoons - northern prairie berry now entering commercial cultivation, but expensive as they are labour-intensive. Only available in later July and August. I have a cards and contact infor for a couple of growers who will air freight. Interested?

Date: 2008-01-09 04:22 am (UTC)Also allergic to nuts (not peanuts, although I don't eat any, just in case), hay, mold, pollen, wisteria, animals, angora (I know it's an animal, but people just think of it as a fiber), fragrances, tide, spiders...
The food allergies are an over-eager histamine response by the receptors that are allergic to pollen--somehow they get them confused and react even though the tree isn't actually there.
I keep testing things but most of it's trial and error...
