charlottezwebHad a date last night for dinner and drinks and almost dancing. The CBW took me to Sermet's--mmmmmmmm.... Wore a below-the-knee denim skirt with a blue stripey halter top, hoop earrings with little bits of turquoise on them, and beige suede strappy heels (yes, the MBs). Blew out my hair so it was bigger and turned under and did my eyes in blues with a tiny bit of blush and lips just filled in with lipliner and glossed. I hadn't made an effort in a while, but it turned out very nicely.
Sermet's was lovely, as usual. Had the calamari with fennel appetizer, then the sauteed shrimp, sausage and mushrooms over couscous with a lobster ginger sauce. It was excellent, but not as good as tCBW's steak, which may have been the nicest piece of meat I've ever tasted. We split a bottle of Bonnie Doone riesling which was just right and then had a piece of truffle cake for dessert. The truffle cake was ok, but not as good as the torte with which I had it confused, unfortunately.
Afterwards, we went over to Big John's for bloody marys where we ran into all his roommates and several other friends. Played some pool, talked about Star Wars, drank a bit, went back to my place.
Not bad for a Sat.
(Oh, funny bit about the Bonnie Doone wine--I tried to pick a bottle up at Harris Teeter last week, but had both the cashier and a manager ask me, "Is that the same as Boone's Farm?")
