Two week update
Mar. 27th, 2007 11:38 amWow, what a surreal couple of weeks.
Two Saturdays ago, as we were pulling out of the driveway to head up to the children's museum, we called Acey's dad to let him know we were driving down the next weekend. He hung up on us so we called him back. Turns out he was giving his wife CPR. O had a kidney problem along with other health issues and she'd had a heart attack. Heart failure actually. So instead of the children's museum, we threw some stuff in the car and drove down to chas as fast as we could.
I was in Huger for two weeks learning to run the house and take care of my FIL's business. I also learned what to do when the pump for the well shuts off. A and the baby are still there and will be there off and on until May when I join them permanently. The baby is in love with the new life--I'm going to enjoy it but am a little apprehensive--it's a big change. But it was nice to have a steady routine--I even made a chore chart. A tilled the garden so he could plant this week--butter beans, tomatos, bell peppers, peppers, squash, zucchini, watermelon, and three other veggies I've forgotten. He's also going to till me a flower garden--it's not a home without hydrangeas.
