Mar. 4th, 2007 10:26 pmWhew! 6, count 'em, 6 triple loads of laundry completed and put away. That may be a record for us. We've got another smaller (much smaller) batch to do on Weds, which has been designated laundry day, and then we'll be totally caught up. The clothes we have left are the ones that don't fit so they get shoved to the back of the laundry pile instead of getting washed. But we have to wash them before we can donate them, thereby getting them out of the house, finally.
I got the results of my bloodwork on Friday--the meds have raised my TSH levels from .oo4 to .005. Great. (It's supposed to be at least 3.5.) So when I go see the endocrinologist he'll probably raise my dosage. I need to make that appt.
I signed us up for Netflix last night--movies will be winging their way here shortly. I figure that will actually save us some money--we spend quite a bit on payperview/on demand and at the video store. Of course since we now have the most basic cable, there is no more ppv or on demand.
We also decided to change our housing plan for Charleston--since my step-MIL can't be around a child for 3 months if she gets her transplant and I'm not at all sure we could all live together anyway, we had thought about buying a trailer to put on the property since there's already an established trailer space. We picked out a new model and then thought about how much that would cost in the long run, so we decided to get a used one, as cheaply as possible. Then, we remembered that there's a (tiny) house on the property already. The homestead where A grew up, as did his father before him--A's grandfather built it some 50-60 yrs ago. It needs some work, but is sound--we'd need to paint and replace some things, but could do it over time and this way we'd have a place to live pretty much immediately and with no real expense. A's dad even offered to take care of getting the wiring checked and having central heat and air put in!

Date: 2007-03-07 02:09 am (UTC)All in all, not a bad strategy. Just think, the less indebtedness, the more you have available for future indulgences. OK, not indulgence, but just remember that expenses always appear magically to eat up whatever surplus you might manage to eke out.
Still happens to me...
