Week Update
Nov. 27th, 2006 08:29 pmThanksgiving was a nice break. Made it through the rest of my classes last week, then headed out on Weds for NC after running around town paying bills. Stopped in Blue Ridge for a new fly rod and coffee and to let the baby run around. Made it to my uncle's about 430pm to find out that my mom was on her way also. She made it about 730pm--there was terrible traffic.
Thursday was full of cooking and food--mmmm, cherry pie made with homegrown cherries.
Fri A went fishing and momma and I went to Brevard for lunch and shopping, which would have been much easier without the baby. *sigh* Next time, I'll see if we can trade off a day of fishing for one of shopping. Then I can go through the Humane Society thrift store much more intently. (It was huge.) The sales were pretty good and there weren't too many people. I found a bunch of Xmas presents too as well as some toys for the kidlet.
Sat we had pancakes and packed. Drove back to Rome and dropped the baby off with P's sister. Went and got haircuts and jeans and spent some quality time at home before going to Atl to meet the gang.
Man, that was awesome. Drank at some bar, had dinner at the Vortex and then we all walked around the cormer for tattoos. Yes, all 6 of us got the same tattoo of the palmetto tree and crescent moon from the SC state flag. We hung out at the parlor until 1am, getting inked 2 by 2. My last one didn't really hurt, but oh, wow, this one did. I'll post a pic soon.
Sun we drove to Chattanooga to buy Xmas Presents at the Sunday Market. Turned out they were having a soup cook-off so we had yummy soup cups and mochas. Drove back to Rome and collapsed in the living room while the baby ran amok until bedtime.
It was so nice to see my family during the week and then actually go out with my friends on Sat--I only wish we'd had more time.
