Aug. 27th, 2006 01:04 pmI keep thinking that I have said this already but someone's comment made me realize that no, in fact, I haven't said that:
I have no phone and have not had one for weeks--we have been broke and unable to buy phone cards. I get paid this week coming (a real! paycheck) and we will both have the phones topped up and will be seeing about getting a landline from bellsouth.
I miss you (yes, you) and will talk to you soon!

Date: 2006-08-28 07:27 pm (UTC)I made the switch about a year ago and haven't regretted it. They do have a referral program where I get credit, but that doesn't matter. It's far less expensive than traditional phones.
There are some downsides: If power goes out, you don't have a phone. There are some caveats to 911 service.
