Just fled the living room crying because of March of the Penguins. Don;t know if I'm oversensitive bc I'm a new mom, but I just couldn't watch the whole thing. It was heartbreaking.

Oh, I understand completely. I watched it NYE with Twoson (who is 15) and we were both very saddened and amazed.

Given the news frequently makes me cry at the moment, I find this totally understandable.

Thanks for the warning. Someone gave it to us for Giftmas, but I've been deliberately not watching it. Fear, you know?

There is *no* way I can go see King Kong.

You're not oversensitive. When I saw it my first comment was "why are they billing this as some kind of fun kids movie???"

Heartbreaking is exactly how I felt. Stunned.

But if you ever feel up to it, it helped me to watch past the hardest parts. The penguins push on through, and there is life and growth even in the midst of death.

Saw today that it is listed in the top eight tear-jerkers of the year. I want to see it, and appreciate the warning. I had no idea it was sad. Must wait for time to cry, me thinks.

Which is why I'm not going to be seeing it. I know about the subject matter. But animal movies depress me, and what with my affinity for black-and-white cold waterfowl... just a bad idea for me, I think.
