A lovely weekend...
Oct. 11th, 2005 07:10 amEven though the baby was still sick, the weekend ended up being really nice and relaxing. Fri night we ordered pizza and watched tv, and then Sat, we did nothing but hang around the house while the baby recuperated. Watched some movies and ordered thai for dinner, mmm...
Sun the baby seemed better, so we loaded him in the car for errand running--dropped off laundry, picked up some essentials at Walgreens (gossip rags, etc.) and went to the foofy grocery store for soy/goat/sheep products (I'm still cow milk free thanks to the baby's allergies, so am discovering the joys of soygurt and soy sour cream). Across from there is the Flying Squirrel, which carries mostly second-hand kids stuff--I was looking for socks, but ended up with a bag of toys--$17 for three soft books, a turtle teether rattle, a big stuffed activity dog (Lamaze toy with texture/sound), and a Little Leap Pad (for the toddler--it's a baby computer game system)!
After such an exciting haul, we went home to drop off the baby with my sis and head to downtown Brooklyn--yes, you read that right, we left the baby, we went out alone! After a quick run through the White Castle drive through, it was over to the movie theater to pick up our Serenity tickets and then a quick pop into Barnes and Noble next door while we were waiting for the movie to start. B&N was great--A got a book on fly-fishing and I got two magazines and _City Baby Brooklyn_, which is awesome.
Serenity was wonderful--pure Joss. I may go see it again next weekend. Because the puppy soup is so good.
