Whew! Well, it looks like verything's ok, for some value of ok. The OB office took forever yesterday bc the OB I'd been scheduled to see had to go deliver a baby, but after waiting for a bit, my regular OB, who'd come in to do some paperwork found out I was three and came into to take care of me.

We did some tests--urine, blood pressure, temp, etc--and she's alittle concerned bc my blood pressure is up (but I think that's bc I didn't really sleep the night before and was stressed out bc normally it's great). She decided that it was time for an ultrasound so we did one abdominally and one vaginally--the baby is so much bigger than it was three weeks ago, which might explain my weight gain this trip. She checked all over my insides and couldn't see anything wrong--amniotic fluid was fine, no cysts, no twisted ovaries, no placental rupture, no opened cervix, nothing wrong.

Her current belief is that I'm just one of the lucky few who experience marked musculoskeletal distress during pregnancy and that the baby's growth spurts are going to be very painful. So I'm to take lots of baths and a muscle relaxer as needed.

I got the px filled for the muscle relaxer last nigth and took the first one--wow, it was nice. We also bought a heating pad and between that and the drugs, I slept well for the first time in quite a while. Even this morning, my joints feel better--not nearly as sore and achey as usual.

I am glad that nothing is "wrong," but I'm also very nervous abt this happening again, which it could anytime--if there had been a real reason, we could've fixed it and been done with it. And it doesn't help that now I'm much more nervous abt labor--bc this hurt a lot and if labor hurts worse, I don't think I can handle it.

I'm very glad you got good (FSVO good) news and a good night's sleep. Have you talked with your OB about labor and pain concerns? From what I've observed with my friends going through pregnancy and giving birth, there are ways to handle the pain, either medicinally or non, depending on your individual beliefs/needs/medical situation.

Synchonicity alert! The very odd thing is that I also took muscle relaxers last night (for a stupid back problem) and feel 180% better today. Ain't medicine grand?
