Still Tired,
May. 21st, 2003 04:41 pmbut in a better way. Things have been pretty exciting lately, at least in a mundane way. The new job is a definite and I officially start next Fri. Offically because I've been temping in my position for the past six weeks, which has been about long enough to tell me that I like the work well enough and the people I work with to take the job permanently. And did I mention the benefits? Incredible! Insurance, tons of vacation, flex time, 11 paid holidays... I'd rather be paid less and have lots of time off than work all the time for bunches of money--I love traveling and seeing my friends all over.
Outside of work, things have also been fine. Since my roommate's evil boyfriend has moved away, she's more and more like her old self every day. I enjoy hanging out with her--she even took me to dinner on Fri. He's been in town the past few days though, so I've been avoiding the house; I'm hoping he's gone tonight.
It looks like both TCBW and I have Memorial Day off, so the plan is to take off after work on Fri and drive as far as possible into Fl, stop to rest and then drive the rest of the way to the Keys early Sat morning. It's 14 hours, so we'll have to spend Mon driving back, but we'll have most of Sat and all Sun to frolic in the sun.
Tonight I'm going to tour the Old City Jail for a Piccolo Spoleto event and eat canapes and listen to ghost stories and tales of reconstruction (of the building, not of the post-war era).
Then I'm going home to sleep.
