Wedding Trivia 2/10-3/24

charlottezwebExcept for a couple of small spurts of planning, I haven't really had much to do wedding wise in a while. Most of the big decisions have been made and contracts have been signed with major vendors.
My Maid of Honor did throw us a very nice engagement party (note to self: if someone is throwing you a party, don't have it at your house). A good number of our friends came and we drank two cases of champagne and ate a number of tasty hors d'ouevres (today's party is brought to you by Costco; later on there will be a short presentation on warehouse shopping). I was a little teary at times--people seem to be really happy for us and excited about our wedding--there were toasts even. The Maid of Honor did end up vomiting Exorcist style in my bathroom, however, and then passed out in our bed, so we slept on the couch that night.
My mom and I also managed to find dresses for all but three members of the wedding party--four women will be wearing beautiful gold (pale, not la-me) strapless tea-length Scott McClintock dresses with flared skirts and open backs that have three bejewled straps across; two of my nieces will wear black fitted sleeveless dresses with wide 50s necklines and flared skirts, they have a purple net underskirt and a purple sequined flower on the left hip; my oldest sister will have a long simple black dress that has an overshirt/shawl of black netting with purple flowers and little bits of sequins and beading. It looks like the colors have turned out to be gold, purple and black, which I'm not sure how I feel about, but they all look nice together. (And were such a bargain at the department store clearance sale.)
The Maid of Honor managed to get shoes already too--Sears of all places has two pairs of gold shoes that match the dresses and bronze flip-flops with kitten heels for the reception.
The only thing currently worrying me is that the caterer, who is a little flaky, hasn't returned any of my phone calls lately. But I'm not going to make other plans until Monday.
