Just to keep everyone updated, lol, this baby is showing no signs of being ready to come out on his own, so he is being evicted tomorrow morning at 730am. We have to be at the hospital at 6am, yuck, but should be (barring any complications) finished by midmorning. I'll be in the East Cooper Regional Medical Center until at least Thurs, I think, and maybe until Fri (not sure what my insurance called for or how pleasant the hospital is going to be). I'd like to stay as long as possible to be as healed as possible before going home to the preschooler.

Since my body's not showing any signs of readiness, induction isn't really an option (completely unripe cervix) and we can't really wait any longer--my BP is getting alarmingly high (160/100, etc), I'm seeing occasional floaters, and the 42 week placenta looks like it might be getting less efficient. So, tomorrow (42 weeks) is the latest I'm willing to go--his tests are still good and he's still very wiggly, but I'm getting nervous.

Will post pics, etc, as soon as we get them back. :)

Good luck!

Have your sweetie bring you a hot water bottle. All the nurses and surgeons marveled at how smart I was to have one after my surgery, but they sure as hell weren't going to provide it.

So tomorrow morning, as I log on and get my service calls, I get to sip last night's cold coffee and say, "Well, it could be worse, I could be in the middle of a c-section right now..."

Of course, I get patched-up machines at the end of the day.

You get...well, it's all gonna be good. I remember. You're still starting out while mine are spreading their wings and creating their lives. I figure you know this, but just in case: expect that Number Two will not be a repeat of Number One, and above all, even though you're going to have times where you feel that the day is never going to end, there'll come that time where you look back and say, "You mean they're all grown and gone? WTF? Where'd it all go?" Cherish. Yes, you can bitch and moan when needed, that's perfectly normal--but cherish.

May the C be quick, the drugs good, the recovery quick, the offspring healthy, the bills minimal, and especially, may the menfolk at home not leave a really big pile of pizza boxes and potato chip bags for you to clean up.

Good luck, and I'll be sending good thoughts your way in the morning...
