We got the crib sidecarrred and fully set up with all the new bedding, etc, and we added a crib bumper I'd gotten at a consignment sale. It has little pockets for picture cards to theoretically stimulate the baby and at least give him something interesting to look at. We put in black and white line drawings of a boy's face, a girl's face, a stick figure, a smily bear face and a cat's face. Royce came over to lay in the crib (he loves testing things for Alistair) and said, "Oh, look! There's Bill. And Daddy and Momma. And that's the bear we're going to shoot and the cat we're going to pet!" We have no idea who Bill is but Royce was excited to see him. Acey suggested that we probably wouldn't be shooting the friendly bear either.

Oh, and I got a bit teary last night thanks to the pg hormones (Man, that publix commercial with the doctor who can't go home for Xmas but his family surprises him in his apartment? Bawling, every time) because Royce was on Acey's lap getting ready to go to sleep but started to slide down. Acey stopped him, thinking he was trying to go play, but Royce said, 'No Daddy, I have to get in Momma's lap or she'll be sad." Acey asked why I would be sad, and Royce told him, "Because she won't have enough love. You have plenty of love but Momma needs more."
