Man, this weekend flew by. I could've used another day or two at home, :)

Friday, I got off a bit early, drove home, picked up the rest of the family and headed to North Chas to get a Rody (http://www.rodytoy.com/orange%20w%20base.htm) off of craigslist. A wasn't feeling well, so we came straight back and into the house for couch cuddles w/A and homemade bean burritos, mmmm. After R went to bed (super early), we watched a few eps of Season 1 Middleman (how did we miss this show?) and went to bed ourselves. I may have watched an ep of True Blood, can't remember. I'm still a few behind though.

Sat, we took R to his first preballet/tap class--it went really well. He didn't seem jealous of the outfits the girls got to wear, but loved his special shoes. We peeked in on him part way through class and he was following directions and working on second position. *dies of cute* The teacher said afterwards that he'd done really well--a little trouble paying attention during the ballet part but the other kids (who started 2-3 weeks ago) went through the same thing. When it was over, he clutched his tap shoes and cried. He said he wasn't happy and didn't have any fun (which was clearly not true) and when I sat on the floor next to him and asked him to tell me what was wrong, he very sadly said, "I don't want to go home, Momma. I not ready. More class, please." We promised him more class next week. :)

After class, we went to Target for some stuff A needs for his camping trip this weekend, like a tent that doesn't weigh 800 lbs. We found a cheap backpacking tent that looks like it'll work fine and picked that up. Also found a preschool computer game for R that I thought would be perfect but when I got it home, it turned out that when it said it would work on a Mac, they meant an older Mac, running 9.2 not any OSX. Oops. After getting super frustrated with that, A and I got into a long discussion about expectations for the house and nesting and the newbie coming soon, etc. We cleared the air and I'm going to try giving him very clear goals every day, per his request (this isn't about normal stuff like dishes or laundry), so he knows what needs to be done in the great nesting project.

Sat afternoon, A worked and R napped on my lap. I made the best dinner _ever_--took glory cornbread mix and put half of it in the bottom of a casserole dish, layered the mexican leftovers (beans, rice w/corn, cheese, repeat), and put the rest of the cornbread on top. Baked it and, wow, it was awesome. No leftovers at all. Go, me!

Sunday, we cleaned the house and the car, dropped boxes at goodwill and went to Huger for a bit to see A's dad. Woo-hoo. (note: sarcasm) By the time we left I had a splitting headache from the smoke and from biting my tongue. A stop at Jack's Cosmic Dogs helped (hotdog w/sweet potato mustard and blue cheese cole slaw, homemade fries and homemade root beer), as did going home and collapsing on the couch. Decided we would go out there Xmas Eve, assuming FIL was home and I wasn't in labor, heh. Brought home some boxes from the old house, unpacked those, and then had an online midterm review while we ate one pot chicken and rice and R and A watched Jay Jay the Jet Plane (my eyes, it burnz). Unpacking the boxes was funny--two boxes of fragile stuff ended up being almost all bubble wrap, plastic cups and empty spaghetti jars. The other one was framed pictures, yay, so there will be an orgy of picture hanging this week! Yay!
