Getting organized for Tropical Storm Hanna. Acey's gone to get sandbags, if any are left, and to stop by the ATM. When he gets back we'll run down to the corner store for snacks, and then finish straightening the yard and porch and putting sandbags on the doors. (Our yard [and house once] flood when it rains hard, so..) I also have to call AT&T to see if they can trouble shoot our connection over the phone because I don't want to be stuck here with no internet, darn it. We didn't put up plywood on the windows, although we may for Ike, (we may get out of town if Ike heads over here), but the front window has storm shutters and the sides and back are pretty protected by other houses, so we should be ok. And barely a Cat 1 anyway, but I'm looking at this as a dry run, so to speak, for next week.

You know if you ever need to get out, you're welcome here. I'm in the phone book.

Whew!

I hope everything holds. We're getting the finges of Hanna up here tonight, so I can only imagine what you'll be getting and hoping it's ok. It's starting to get windy now. Rain later.

Eeek - hope things settle down with Ike before next week.

I wouldn't know how to begin to prepare for a hurricane, so I read your prep with wide eyes. Wishing you safety and an easy time of the storm.

Good luck with all the weather. I helped at the boychild's house last night, putting away chairs and all the blowable stuff.

Post how you make out 'kay? I've never ridden out a hurricane and I'd appreciate any tips for next year. :P

Gustav's remnants blew through yesterday up here. A tad windier that T-dot's used to, but other than that, the rain fall was timed perfectly (midnight!)
