Jun. 26th, 2008 08:53 amGrrr. I've got to have an annoying conversation with the MW/OB office. Gene commented that my sugars were elevated on my lab results, but I made her give me a copy of the lab results so I could look over them and I think she's wrong. They had me do a random glucose screen, which is a nonfasting test. The lab listed the normal range for glucose as 70-105 but from everything I've been reading, the normal high end of the random test is somewhere between 140 and 200. There's not a consensus--the Mayo clinic says 200 but a couple of other places says 140. The nonfasting high limit is 100. So I'm pretty sure that the lab paperwork doesn't distinguish between fasting and nonfasting, which means that my 119 is totally fine. So other than having to have the conversation with my medical folks, that's one less thing to worry about.
